Welcome to Close Reflections: My Journey from Military Service to Therapy

Today marks an exciting milestone as I officially launch Close Reflections, a blog dedicated to sharing my personal and professional journey from nearly two decades of military service to becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT). For years, I’ve found purpose in supporting and mentoring others through some of life’s toughest moments. Now, I’m stepping into a new role where I can offer close support to individuals, couples, and families as they navigate their own challenges.

After 20 years in the Navy, I felt a calling to serve in a more personal and impactful way—by helping people heal and strengthen their relationships. My experiences in the military shaped my resilience, empathy, and ability to face adversity head-on, and these qualities now guide me as I transition into the field of therapy.

Close Reflections will be a space where I share insights from my MFT studies, reflections on the shift from military life to the world of therapy, and the lessons I learn along the way. Whether you’re a fellow veteran, a family navigating change, or someone curious about the journey to becoming a therapist, I invite you to follow along as I explore this new path.

I look forward to using this blog as a platform to reflect on the experiences that shape me, share thoughts on how therapy can make a difference, and connect with others who are passionate about personal growth and helping families thrive.

Thank you for joining me on this journey. Stay tuned for more posts where I’ll dive deeper into the challenges and joys of transitioning into the world of therapy.
